Update on the WA Art Exhibit

Thanks to all who responded to the recent negative press related to the removal of Leonard's artwork from a Native Americans Month exhibit in Washington State.
We owe a debt of gratitude to the Olympia Food Co-Op. Those generous folks stepped up and accepted the removed paintings. Peltier paintings are now on exhibit in both stores: Eastside Olympia Food Co-Op, 3111 Pacific Ave. SE, Olympia, WA 98501 and Westside Olympia Food Co-Op, 921 Rogers St. NW, Olympia, WA 98502.
Two important articles have also been written in response to the actions of Washington State:

ABQ Organizing Event

All in the Albuquerque, NM, area are invited to join us for an informational meeting, discussion and potluck on December 5, 2015, 12:00 - 2:30 p.m. (MST) at the Albuquerque Center for Peace and Justice, 202 Harvard Drive SE, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87106.
As many of you know, the International Leonard Peltier Defense Committee (ILPDC) was reorganized in May 2015 with Leonard Peltier’s son Chauncey Peltier and Peter Clark as Co-Directors. The headquarters for the ILPDC is located inside the Albuquerque Center for Peace and Justice. Leonard supported placing the headquarters for the Committee in Albuquerque because he is aware of the strong and consistent support he has there.
The ILPDC HQ is requesting that all individuals, groups and organizations in the area dedicate a few hours every week to organize for a successful clemency campaign. Be a part of a team that will be at the center of the clemency effort for the next 12-14 months.
Our focus in ABQ and elsewhere will be on the following:
February 6, 2016, International Day of Solidarity with Leonard Peltier, which will mark 40 years since his arrest on February 6, 1976;
Gathering Congressional support for clemency;
On June 26, 2016, conduct of local events and also send representatives to Oglala, South Dakota, to participate in the Commemoration there on the anniversary of the firefight that led to Leonard's long incarceration; and
From Election Day 2016 through Inauguration Day 2017 (or until Leonard is released), help to organize/mobilize for national action--in particular to maintain a presence in Washington DC, so as to keep the fire burning and give President Obama the courage to send Leonard home.

We urge all support groups and volunteers to create similar alliances in your communities. For information and guidance, please email contact@whoisleonardpeltier.info.
