Though the Synopsis and invitation to attend the meeting was send to some other peasant organizations in India also, they could not send their representatives. The meeting discussed the synopsis and the problems faced by the agrarian movement in the Asian countries, adopted the synopsis with some changes and decided to go ahead with the convening of the three-day long Asian Agricultural Conference in first or second week of March, 2012 **, at New Delhi with the participation of delegates from different peasant organizations, agricultural scientists and economists from as many Asian countries as possible. In order to convene the Conference a Convening Committee for Asian Agricultural Conference was formed with comrades R. Manasayya, general secretary, AIKKS and Bharat Bhandari, chairman, ANKS, as co-conveners. The meeting decided to request the peasant organizations, agricultural scientists and economists to send papers on the agrarian situation, agrarian relations, extent and methods of imperialist penetration in the agrarian sector and agrarian revolutionary program proposed/ pursued in different countries by 31st December (latest by 15 January). (The different organizations and individuals from foreign countries are requested to send the names of their representatives attending the Conference as early as possible so that the visa arrangements for them can be made). Copies of all the papers shall be sent to all organizations and agricultural scientists/ economists who are informing their participation in advance, as and when they are received. The different organizations and scientists/economists participating in the Conference can send their comments on the various papers send to them, which also shall be sent to all the expected participants. The Committee is proposing to convene the Conference more as a workshop for in-depth discussion of the different papers and positions presented and to exchange opinions on the specific conditions and experiences of the peasant movement in different countries and the challenges faced under the imposition of the ‘neo-liberal’ policies. Presently we are sending this invitation to attend the Conference only to those whose email addresses are known to us. All these friends are requested to send this invitation to all those whom they consider can make creative contributions to this debate. All the expenses including the stay and food during the Conference shall be borne by the Convening Committee, while the travelling expenses to New Delhi and back should be borne by the participants. All friends/comrades are requested to send their valuable suggestions about convening the Conference and to send their papers in time so that it can be held successfully. With warm greetings, R. Manasayya, Bharat Bhandari, Co-conveners, Convening Committee, Asian Agricultural Conference 19th September 2011
