Reality Check on Trump’s Nominee Rex Tillerson: Taking the Gloves off U.S. Torture and Terror

Remember what Trump said during the campaign: “I would bring back a hell of a lot worse than waterboarding." Trump’s pick for Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson heard it too. He signed on to the job of an undisguised thug nakedly enforcing the interests of the U.S. empire, with intolerable consequences for billions across the planet.
Forget about allowing a token number of refugees into the U.S.
Forget about covering invasions and occupations with the thinnest facade of protecting human rights.
Forget about any pretense of adhering to international law against war crimes and torture.
That was intolerable.
This is hellishly worse.
It’s Trump time for the world, and Tillerson will be an enforcer of that.
UNLESS… people, in their tens of millions, actually prevent this fascist regime from ruling.

Donald Trump, the President-elect, is assembling a regime of grave danger. Millions of people in the U.S. and around the world are filled with deep anxiety, fear, and disgust.
