On the Revolution Clubs: "We've got to appeal to people and become a household name like the ORIGINAL Black Panthers…"

March 6, 2015 | Revolution Newspaper | revcom.us I've read this...Very interesting that someone outside of the Revolution, a reader of the paper said this... I agree with them we should get ourselves out there for the people to see and know that this is where they should WANT to be...That we are serious and that what we are saying they can trust and believe...We need to stand out...! So that when people see those t's with REVOLUTION on them they know and say that that's the club that's been at it since day one we need to be part of THAT...Somehow we've got to appeal to the people and become as a household name like the ORIGINAL Black Panthers....I had to stress original because of the fakes out there...People need to know where the revolution kicked off from too. I think it would help if people knew that the Original Black Panthers was where this all stemmed from. Bob seriously ran with the Black Panthers in the '60s and '70s...I am not sure how much he did with them but he was inspired by them too wasn't he? The Black Panthers were raw in your face getting at truth spitting the truth and they even could prove the truth like in the mock trials. They did that simulated court hearings. I do believe that would only help to draw more people in to know that as well. Just my opinion but I think it's worth a try. It's kind of like advertisements where they take things that people are familiar with, old music, old video footage of great historical things that have happened that targets their audience they're hoping to get to etc. so why not for the revolution advertise for members? Just an idea I've had since I found out Bob ran with the Panthers. **** Comment from editors: This letter raises important points and questions, and we invite further response. We recommend that everyone interested in the questions posed here get into, or review, BA’s memoir, From Ike to Mao...and Beyond: My Journey from Mainstream America to Revolutionary Communist, especially chapters 7 through 11. More generally, this work should be a big part of the life of the club.
