Die 21. Ausgabe des Fanzines „Proud to be Punk“ ist soeben fertiggestellt worden und erscheint im Laufe der nächsten Woche. Nun suche ich nette Mitmenschen, die besagtes Blatt kaufen bzw. weiterverkaufen möchten. Der Einzelpreis liegt wie gewohnt bei 2,- Euro. Newsletter zur Projektwerkstatt Saasen am 31.12.2014 Vorschau(en) 2015 Veranstaltungsangebote für 2015 25 Jahre Projektwerkstatt – wer will das Jubiläum mittrauern? Prosit Neujahr! Mit zunächst ein paar kalt-weißen, dann kühl-feuchten Tagen geht 2014 zuende. In der Projektwerkstatt versuchte die Holzzentralheizung mehr oder weniger erfolgreich, warme Räume für die letzten Seminare des Jahres zu schaffen, die alles widerspiegeln, was zur Zeit die Projektwerkstatt prägt: Debatten und Themen mit viel Inhalt, aber wenig Leuten. Die Gespräche sind sehr intensiv, aber es kommen nur sehr, sehr wenig Menschen. Fast gar nicht stammen diese aus dem bisherigen Nutzer_innenkreis und Umfeld der Projektwerkstatt, also auch nicht aus Kreisen der Aktivist_innen, die traditionell mit coolen Aktionen den Normalbetrieb von Herrschaft und Kapitalverwertung stören, aber sich für Inhalte und Alternativen eher wenig interessieren. Richtig gut funktioniert meist das Haus mit seinen Einrichtungen: Schöne Räume, viel und gut zu essen (prima Container-Ergebnisse), aber auch sonst funktioniert alles ziemlich gut bzw. ist gut ausgestattet (bis auf die Heizung, der man ihr Alter immer mehr anmerkt und die es nicht mehr richtig schafft, bei Kälte das große Haus so richtig warm zu kriegen … zumal immer auch noch irgendjemand den einen oder anderen Fehler macht). Dieser Newsletter soll eine Vorschau auf 2015 bringen. Ein Punkt: Wir werden 25 Jahre alt. Fraglos – das ist kein Grund zum Feiern. Niemand, auch die Projektwerkstatt kann im 25. Jahr ihres Bestehens nicht auf den großen Durchbruch zu einer besseren, vor allem herrschaftsärmeren Welt hoffen. Die Erfolgsmeldungen vieler Politorganisationen dienen der Selbstbeweihräucherung. Mit der Realität da draußen haben sie nichts gemeinsam. Wir werden daher weiter kämpfen, suchen Mitsteiter_innen und Kooperationen. Aber vielleicht nutzen wir die 25-Jahr-Sache trotzdem für irgendwa. Ich freue mich auf Rückmeldungen dazu oder auch sonst. Und auf Menschen, Gruppen, Seminare, Projekte …, die hier unser Haus nutzen. VORSCHAU: PROJEKTE UND AKTIVITÄTEN 2015 Nein, tut mir leid: Das lässt sich nicht wirklich vorhersagen. Hoffentlich jedenfalls. Denn es wäre ein sehr dünnes Jahr, wenn nur soviel stattfindet, wie sich jetzt abzeichnet. Neuere Themen in und um die Projektwerkstatt, die laufen oder sich anbahnen: Gegen die Zwangs-Psychiatrie: Der Schrecken hinter Mauern und Stacheldraht ist zu einem wichtigen Schwerpunktthema geworden. Neben Aktionen und Hilfe für Betroffene geht es vor allem um das Sammeln konkreter Beweise für Übergriffe, Rechtsbrüche, Willkür usw. Unsere Internetseiten dazu: www.psychiatrieundknast.de.vu. Schwarzstrafen: Kampagne für Nulltarif im öffentlichen Personenverkehr, denn das ganze Fahrkartenwesen ist unsozial, teuer und nicht effizient. Schließlich gehen ca. 20 % der Einnahmen schon gleich wieder durch die Kosten des Fahrscheinverkaufs, -werbung und –kontrollierens hinaus. Hinzu kommen Kosten für Strafverfolgung und teure Knastkosten, denn viele tausend Menschen sitzen wegen Schwarzfahrens in Gefängnissen. Unsere Idee: Wer schwarz fährt, macht das öffentlich und wirbt für Nulltarif. Dann ist es auch keine Straftat mehr … Erklärung und mehr Infos unter www.schwarzstrafen.de.vu. Solidarische Landwirtschaft: Die Idee, dass landwirtschaftliche Höfe nicht einen anonymen Markt, sondern konkrete Leute mit deren konkreten Bedürfnissen beliefern, ist schon in vielen Orten verwirklicht. Wir würden das gern im Ostkreis Gießen und West-Vogelsberg auch hinbekommen. Wer macht mit? Landwirt_innen sind schon einige dabei – aber wer will sein Essen direkt vom Hof haben? Mehr Infos: www.projektwerkstatt.de/ Kritik an vereinfachten Welterklärungen: Da ist etwas unfreiwillig zu einem Thema geworden, weil es doch immer mehr Menschen gibt, die – aus berechtigter Empörung über soviel Schlechtes in der Welt – auf genaues Hingucken verzichten und schnelle Urteile bilden, Schuldige heraussuchen, ihre eigene Verwobenheit in die Verhältnisse ausblenden und so zu Sofa-Nörgler_innen oder Mahnwachen-Herumsteher_innen werden, die nicht mehr wirklich etwas an der Welt zu verändern versuchen. Ich habe da eine Internetseite (www.kopfentlastung.de.vu), ein Büchlein zu gemacht und biete Vorträge/Workshops an. VORSCHAU: Veranstaltungsangebote 2015 Über vier Jahre (Mitte 2009 bis 2012) dominierte die Ton-Bilder-Schau „Monsanto auf Deutsch“ die Vortragsreisen aus der Projektwerkstatt in fast alle Teile des deutschsprachigen Raumes (am wenigsten in Hessen, wo Grüne und Umweltverbände meist gut aufpassten, dass sie ihren Alleinvertretungsanspruch für – meist eher verwaschene – Ökopositionen behielten). Das ist vorbei und es bleibt der Film „Aufstieg und Fall der Agro-Gentechnik“ als thematisches Angebot zu diesem Thema. Ich werde aber gern weiter rumfahren mit den nun aktuellen Themen. Besondere empfehle ich zur Zeit neben dem genannten Film: Alternativen zu Einsperren und Strafen Strafe soll gewaltförmiges Verhalten von Menschen stoppen. Tatsächlich tut sie genau das Gegenteil. Wie jede andere autoritäre Struktur treten unter Kontrolle und Strafjustiz, in Polizeigewahrsam, Knästen und Zwangspsychiatrien deutlich mehr Gewalttätigkeiten als draußen auf. Gerichtsverfahren, Diagnosen und Urteile verhindern nicht Straftaten, sondern tragen zur Kriminalisierung bei. Das zeigt selbst eine Studie der Bundesregierung - und dennoch wird immer härter bestraft, mehr Überwachung, mehr Kontrolle und neue Knäste gefordert. Wenn es um Nazis geht, stimmen auch linke Gruppen in den Chor des Bestrafungs-„Fanblocks“ ein. Der Wegfall von Atomkraft ist für viele noch vorstellbar, ohne grundsätzlich an den Rahmenbedingungen dieser Republik zu rütteln. In der Forderung nach Abschaffung von Strafe und Einsperren wird unmittelbar die grundsätzliche Herrschaftsfrage gestellt. Denn ohne Polizei, Zwangsanstalten und Gerichte ist kein Staat zu machen. Mit dieser Veranstaltung ist daher die Hoffnung verknüpft, spannende Debatten über eine Welt ohne Herrschaft zu führen, ohne Widersprüche auszublenden. Was sind die Alternativen zu Strafe, Knast/Zwangspsychiatrie und Kontrolle? Wie gehen Menschen in einer herrschaftsfreien Gesellschaft mit gewaltförmigen Verhalten um? Mögliche Form der Veranstaltung: Workshop oder Tagesseminar Mehr Infos: www.welt-ohne-strafe.de.vu und www.psychiatrieundknast.de.vu Macht macht Umwelt kaputt - über den Zusammenhang von Herrschaft und Umweltzerstörung Herrschaft bedeutet die Möglichkeit, Abläufe und Verhältnisse so regeln zu können, dass andere die negativen Folgen erleiden müssen. Umweltzerstörung basiert regelmäßig auf diesem Prinzip: Industrie und ihre Staaten graben in armen Regionen nach Energiequellen und Rohstoffen, transportieren schiffeweise Nahrungsmittel oder Holz zu sich und kippen den Müll wieder in die Peripherien zurück. Städte nutzen das Umland für Bauflächen, Straßentrassen und Müllhalden. Die Natur zählt nichts, weil die Menschen in ihr still sind oder still gehalten werden. Wer Umwelt dauerhaft schützen will, muss daher die Machtfrage stellen. Doch was geschieht tatsächlich? Selbst Umweltver-bände setzen auf Staat, Umweltpolizei, Gesetze und Firmen, um die Welt grün zu halten. Diese Schüsse gehen nach hinten los - schon seit Jahrzehnten. Nötig ist eine Umweltschutzstrategie, die die Menschen ermächtigt, ihr Leben wieder selbst zu organisieren – ohne Hierarchien und Privilegien. Nur ein Umweltschutz von unten ist grundlegend und dauerhaft wirksam. Referent: Jörg Bergstedt, Autor von "Reich oder rechts?" und "Monsanto auf Deutsch" Infoseite: www.umwelt-und-emanzipation.de.vu Gene, Gelder, Gegenwehr Mit viel Geld, der Power großer Konzerne und einem geberfreundlichen Staat im Rücken startete 1990 das Projekt, die Landwirtschaft weiter dem Diktat von Markt und Macht zu unterwerfen. Die neue Waffe: Gentechnik. Damit schienen Saatgutkontrolle und Patente möglich - der Traum aller, die Profite erhöhen und Kapital akkumulieren, also kapitalistisch erfolgreich sein wollen. Um ihr Ziel zu erreichen, schufen sie dubiose Firmenkonstrukte, platzierten ihre Leute überall in Behörden und Regierungen und vernetzten die wichtigen Stellen zu Seilschaften der Agrogentechnik. Doch diesmal gewannen sie nicht, zumindest in Deutschland nicht (was nicht reicht!). Denn schon Mitte der 90er Jahre udn dann wieder b 2005 entwickelte sich eine spannende Mischung des Widerstandes: Feldbefreiungen, Feldbesetzungen, Aktionen vor Konzernzentralen und -versammlungen, Recherchen hinter den Kulissen, brisante Veröffentlichungen und viele informative Veranstaltungen. Mit Erfolg: 2011 wurden die letzten Versuchsfelder in einer spektakulären Aktion zerstört. Monsanto, BASF & Co. kündigten ihren Abgang aus Deutschland an. Seit 2013 wächst keine gv-Pflanze mehr. Wie gelang das? Was lässt sich daraus für andere Kampagnen und Aktionen lernen - z.B. für den Widerstand gegen Atom oder Kohle, Tierfabriken oder übergriffige Behörden, Nazis oder Sozialabbau, Militär oder Repression. Fotos, kurze Filme und ausgewählte Anekdoten machen die Ton-Bilder-Schau zu einer rasanten Erinnerung an den Aufstieg und Fall der Agrogentechnik in Deutschland. Form der Veranstaltung: 2-stündige Ton-Bilder-Schau (Darstellung plus Bilder und kurze Filme auf Leinwand) Den Kopf entlasten: Kritik anti-emanzipatorischer Positionen in politischen Bewegungen Monsanto ist schuld. Nein, die Bilderberger. Quatsch, der Finanzkapital macht alles kaputt. Hinter allem stecken zwei Bankersfamilien. Europa wird immer mehr amerikanisiert. Geht doch gar nicht, weil Deutschland ohnehin von den USA besetzt ist. Oder gar nicht existiert ... So oder ähnlich klingen viele Erklärungsmodelle für die Ursachen empfundener Missstände. Was sie gemeinsam haben: Sie vereinfachen, verkürzen komplexe Herrschaftsanalysen und spielen mit den Mitteln des Populismus. Statt Menschen zu eigenständigem Denken und kritischem Hinterfragen anzuregen, wandeln sie Ohnmacht oder Empörung in billige Zustimmung - zwecks politischer Beeinflussung, Sammeln von AnhängerInnen und WählerInnen oder auf der Suche nach dem schnöden Mammon in Form von Spenden und Mitgliedsbeiträgen. Vor allem aber können sie gefährlich sein, wenn plumpe Feindbilder und verkürzte Ursache-Wirkungsketten zu einem Hass gegen Bevölkerungsgruppen führen, denen die Schuld für das Böse auf der Welt zugeschoben wird - der Antisemitismus ist nur ein Beispiel dafür, die Folgen sind bekannt. Im Vortrag (bzw. Workshop) werden Prinzipien vereinfachter Welterklärungen benannt und dann Beispiele vorgestellt, über die jeweils auch kurze Debatten möglich sind. Oder auf die alten Klassiker, z.B. „Fiese Tricks von Polizei und Justiz“, „Freie Menschen in freien Vereinbarungen – Theorie der Herrschaftsfreiheit“ oder Trainings für kreative Protestformen, Selbstverteidigung von Gericht usw.? Meldet Euch, damit wir konkrete Termine absprechen können. Für weiter entfernt liegende Orte würde ich gerne Veranstaltungstouren planen, also mehrere Termine hintereinander. Aber alles fängt immer mit dem ersten an … Bereits in Planung: 18. bis 22. Januar durch Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (noch Termine frei!) Am 31. Januar bin ich mit einem Vortrag in Köln. Danach könnten weitere Termine in NRW anschließen Ende März durch den Süden Dazwischen soll es weitere Touren geben und Aktionstrainings an Wochenende. Orte noch offen. Ab Mitte April Richtung Norden (bisher ein Termin in Norden/Ostfriesland) Danach dann ist alles noch möglich … Außerdem wird es einen Dokumentarfilm geben, der für Filmabende, Kino usw. geeignet ist. VORSCHAU: Veröffentlichungen 2015 Auch hier sind Vorhersagen für das ganze Jahr nicht möglich. Denn hoffentlich ist das Jahr dynamisch und gebiert noch viele Ideen. Was schon feststeht und in den nächsten Wochen schon gelingen sollte: Drei Romane sind noch immer in Korrektur und Layout Der erste große Dokumentarfilm aus der neuen Filmschneidewerkstatt zu „Aufstieg und Fall der Agro-Gentechnik am Beispiel von Mecklenburg-Vorpommern“ – ab Januar als DVD und im Internet. Im März erscheint eine neue Ausgabe der Umweltzeitung „grünes blatt“ (www.gruenes-blatt.de), diesmal mit dem Schwerpunkt „Kritik an vereinfachten Welterklärungen“. Mehr auf www.aktionsversand.de.vu. Was später noch kommt, ist nicht abzusehen. Vielleicht wieder der Direct-Action-Kalender, weitere Romane oder Büchlein in der Theoriepocket-Reihe. Eventuell schaffen wir auch 2015 schon einen Dokumentationsband zu den Schrecken der Zwangspsychiatrie – mal sehen. Was nicht volle Pulle kommerziell ist oder von hauptamtlichen Funktionär_innen geführt wird, zählt in dieser (kapitalistischen) Welt bekanntlich nichts. Ein beeindruckendes Beispiel lieferte (mal wieder) die Wikipedia-Polizei ab. In dem Laden gibt es eine Menge Zensoren, während Normalbürger_innen kaum noch direkt mitwirken können. Einer (hier unbekannten) Person wurde ein Literatureintrag wegzensiert. Es war unser SeitenHieb-Verlags-Buch „Tatort Gutfleischstraße. Die Fiesen Tricks von Polizei und Justiz“. Ganz offen begründete der Wikipedia-Polizist Henning Schlottmann aus München seine Zensur: „Bitte keine Veröffentlichungen im SeitenHieb-Verlag“. Das etwas im SeitenHieb-Verlag erschien, ist also ausreichender Grund für das Entfernen des Eintrags. Mit einer ähnlichen Begründung wurde auch schon „Monsanto auf Deutsch“ aus Wikipedia gefegt. Mehr: www.projektwerkstatt.de/wikipedia. VORSCHAU: 25 Jahre Projektwerkstatt Der Ursprung liegt in der Jugendumweltbewegung der Ende 80er Jahre. Von dort kamen Ideen für herrschaftskritische Umweltschutzstrategien, mehr Unabhängigkeit und weniger Hierarchien in Umweltgruppen und –verbänden. Deren Chefetagen mochten das aber nicht besonders und schlossen 1990 gewählte Jugendvorständler aus. Der Nabu-Landesvorstand Hessen löste sogar die eigene Jugendorganisation auf und ließ gewählte Jugendvertreter_innen aus deren eigener Geschäftsstelle in Wetzlar mit Polizei abführen. Die Uniformierten, dienstverblödet wie üblich, kamen dieser – auch rechtlich mindestens fragwürdigen – Bitte der Parteibuchinhaber_innen in Öko-Ämtern nach. Das Ergebnis war der Bruch. Aber nicht alle Teile der Umweltverbände folgen dem staats- und wirtschaftsnahen Stil der Führungen. So entstand zwischen den kleinen Hungener Ortsteilen Steinheim und Trais-Horloff als Kooperation zwischen dem dort aktiven Naturschutzbund Jugendumweltaktivst_innen am 28.11.1993 die erste Projektwerkstatt. Kurz danach folgten weitere, u.a. in der Wetterau, dann in Bad Hersfeld und anderen hessischen Orten sowie bundesweit. Die Bündnisse zerfielen jedoch vielerorts, so dass unabhängige Aktivist_innen und Naturschutzgruppen getrennte Wege gingen. Im April 1993 zog die Projektwerkstatt in den Reiskirchener Ortsteil Saasen um und dehnte sich thematisch auf alle Politikbereiche aus, während im „Alten Bahnhof Trais-Horloff“ der Naturschutzbund das Haus unter dem Titel „Naturschutzzentrum“ weiterbetrieb und nun den für einen Nabu traditionellen Schwerpunkt im Arten- und Biotopschutz stärkte. Fortan vergingen viele Jahre und die Akteur_innen des Anfangs haben sich überwiegend völlig aus den Augen verloren, sehr unterschiedliche Wege eingeschlagen. Aus der Jugendumweltbewegung entstanden ca. 50 Umwelt- und Projektwerkstatt mit unterschiedlichen thematischen Ausrichtungen. Sie waren viele Jahre die tragenden Säulen einer sehr aktiven Jugendumwelt“szene“ in Deutschland, während die durch Zwangsauflösungen und Ausschlüsse vielerorts wieder an die Erwachsenenverbände geketteten Jugendverbände sich entpolitisierten. Heutige Schwerpunkte dort sind oft Naturerlebnis, Jugendfreiheiten und –fahrten. Doch auch das Zeitalter der Projektwerkstätten war nur von einigen Jahren Dauer. Viele lösten sich mit dem Älterwerden der Hauptaktiven auf, andere ließen sich von den Lockangeboten eines modernen Herrschaftssystems kaufen, sprich: Durch Fördergelder für Projekte oder gar hauptamtliche Stellen allmählich in seichtere Gewässer spülen. Als die hessische Landesregierung bei der Vergabe von Stellen des freiwilligen ökologischen Jahres eine Art Anti-Extremismus-Erklärung forderte und zusätzlich, dass alle Einsatzstellen ihre Kooperation mit der zum Feindbild erklärten Projektwerkstatt in Saasen einstellten, kamen neben Umweltorganisationen und anderen Einsatzstellen auch die Hälfte der Umwelt- und Projektwerkstätten dieser Erpressung nach. Die Spaltung war vollzogen, die Strategie des „Spalte und herrsche“ seitens des Staates geglückt. All den Rest weiterzuerzählen, würde diesen Newsletter sprengen. Wir überlegen aber, die Geschichte zu erzählen. Sie ist keine Erfolgsstory. Angesichts der Lage in der Welt ist es völlig albern, dass Umweltverbände wie andere Organisationen und Parteien auch in ihren Berichten nur Erfolgsmeldungen aneinanderreihen. Das ist billige Propaganda, um Mitglieder und vor allem Spender_innen bei Laune zu halten. Wer mit offenen Augen rausguckt, wird eher zum Verzweifeln neigen. Der Rückblick kann aber helfen, bei der Entwicklung zukünftiger Strategien alte Fehler zu vermeiden und neue Ideen auszuprobieren. Es bedarf keiner Einigung – die Vielfalt unterschiedlicher Ansätze ist stets erfolgreicher gewesen als der Versuch, durch ein Ringen um Geschlossenheit tatsächlich zu spalten. Wer hat Lust, bei diesem Rückblick und bei der Entwicklung neuer Ideen mitzuwirken? Eingeladen sind alle – von denen, die damals dabei waren, später hinzukamen, die wegblieben oder heute noch dran sind. Oder die einfach Lust haben, ihre Nase da reinzustecken. Mögliche Bausteine: Veranstaltungen, Radtouren usw. ab Sommer 2015 zu den Quellen der (Ex-)Bewegung: Mal nur zum Angucken, mal zum Feiern, mal zum Nachdenken über politische Strategien, Kooperationen usw. aus den zweieinhalb Jahrzehnten verschiedener Erfahrungen Seminare und Veranstaltungen im Winterhalbjahr 2015/2016 zu politischen Strategien und Handlungsmöglichkeiten, zu Fragen der Selbstorganisierung (die Projektwerkstatt ist ja nach wie vor frei von finanziellen Abhängigkeiten, Fördermitteln, Geldgeber_innen usw.), Hierarchieminderung und mehr. Welche Themen wären interessant? War macht bei was mit? Dokumentationen mit Perspektiven … im Internet? Als Buch? Als Film? VORSCHAU: Haus und Einrichtungen Im Prinzip (stand ja schon oben) ist der Laden gut in Schuss. Viele kleine Sachen stehen immer an oder werden als Sachspenden gesucht – Infos im Internet unter www.projektwerkstatt.de/gesucht oder an den Pinnwänden im Haus. Irgendwann wird die Heizung erneuert werden müssen, sie läuft jetzt im 22. Jahr. Mal sehen wie wir das hinkriegen (woher ein neuer Holzheizkessel? Oder etwas anderes? Wer schafft es, die neuen Geräte so an die Regelung anzuschließen, dass alles wieder flutscht? Welche Ventile, Pumpen usw. sind ebenfalls inzwischen reparaturbedürftig?). Etwas größere Baustellen einschließlich Materialorganisierung sind die Außenisolierung des Gebäudetraktes mit dem Kleingruppen- und Direct-Action-Raumes sowie ein neues Dach auf dem Zirkusbauwagen im Garten. Letzteres ist zur Hälfte übrigens jetzt wieder frei und könnte z.B. zu einer Art Gäste- und Ich-brauch-mal-einen-Tag-Ruhe-Raum ausgebaut werden. Was ständig anliegt: Bibliotheken und Archive: Das sieht hinsichtlich Mitwirkung weiterhin nicht wirklich gut aus. Es ist ja ohnehin allgemeiner Zeitgeist, dass immer weniger Menschen selbst recherchieren oder gar lesen. Google und Wikipedia nehmen das Denken ab. Bei politischen Aktionen geht es selten um (vertiefte) Inhalte. Insofern sind unsere phantastischen Archive und Bücherregale viel weniger genutzt als es möglich wäre. Wer sie kennt, weiß aber, dass damit große Chancen vertan werden. Hier ist viel zu finden – nicht nur die Literatur aus den geordneten Archiven der Bürgerlichkeit. Vieles, was hier steht, sind Schriften der antiemanzipatorischen Teile in der Gesellschaft. Wer hinter Kulissen gucken will, findet viel Material. Ganz schlecht sieht es bei der Betreuung vieler Themengebiete aus. Immer wieder übernehmen Menschen ein Thema, aber irgendwie scheinen sich viele Leute ständig zu überlisten und Sachen vor sich her zu schieben, statt einfach mal zu machen. Bis sie vergessen sind … Außer Ankündigungen ist bislang eher wenig passiert (Ausnahmen und das gemeinsame Sortieren jedes Jahr über Weihnachten bestätigen die Regel). Daher sind wichtige Themenbereiche immer noch unsortiert, z.B. Frieden/Krieg, Gender/Sexismus, Antifa/Antira. Bei vielen schaffe ich es mehr schlecht als recht – „Direct Action“ haben ich nach jahrelangem Warten auf Andere jetzt angefangen und hoffe, dass es in einigen Tagen oder Wochen wieder nutzbar ist. Viele andere Themenregale der Bibliothek warten weiter auf UnterstützerInnen, die sich einfach mal einen oder einige Tage Zeit nehmen, um ihre Lieblingsthemen durchzuschauen, zu sortieren usw. Macht auch Spaß in den schönen Archivräumen der Projektwerkstatt. Und wer einen Bereich sortiert, weiß dann auch genau, was dort zu finden ist …ich freue mich auf Mitwirkung! Reparaturen mit Spezialkenntnissen: Schwächen gibt es zur Zeit bei Elektrotechnik, also das Reparieren von Soundanlagen, Kopierern usw. Für all das suchen wir immer auch einige Sachspenden. On 13th Anniversary of Sa'adat's Detention, Take Action: Free Palestinian Political Prisoners, End Security Coordination

Ahmad Sa’adat, Palestinian political leader and General Secretary of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, was prohibited from family visits for three additional months in an order from an Israeli military court. The PFLP and Sa’adat’s family denounced the order on 27 December; the order came as a renewal of an initial order issued by an Israeli military court on 14 September, prohibiting family visits for three months. Sa’adat is now prohibited from receiving family visits until April 2015. It should be noted that this is not the first time Sa’adat’s family visits have been denied or prohibited. It is only his wife, Abla, and his oldest son, Ghassan, who hold Jerusalem ID status, that have ever been able to visit him in Israeli prisons. These visits were denied entirely during Sa’adat’s over three years in isolation, from March 2009 through May 2012. His and Abla’s three other children – who have West Bank IDs – have never been granted permission to visit their father; these visits are denied under a “security” pretext. The denial of family visits to Palestinian prisoners is clearly an attempt to impose a new form of isolation upon them, to separate them from their families and communities. Further, it is a form of collective punishment against Palestinian families, mothers, fathers and children, who are being denied access to their loved ones. It is an attempt to break the indomitable will of Palestinian political prisoners and their families, the backbone and the core of the Palestinian liberation movement – an attempt that will certainly fail as all others have. On January 15-25, 2015, please join the Campaign to Free Ahmad Sa’adat in demanding freedom for Sa’adat and all Palestinian prisoners and an end to PA security coordination with Israel! On January 15, 2002, Ahmad Sa’adat, Palestinian leader and General Secretary of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, was abducted by Palestinian Authority security services in Ramallah, joining several of his comrades already seized by the Palestinian Authority, following a fraudulent invitation to a meeting by then-PA security official Tawfiq Tirawi. Captured at the behest of Israeli occupying forces, Sa’adat and his comrades wereheld for over four years in the Palestinian Authority’s prison in Jericho, under U.S. and British guards. During that time, Sa’adat was never charged and even the PA’s high court ordered his release: but the demands of Israel, the U.S. and Britain kept him and his comrades behind bars in a Palestinian Authority prison until the prison itself was attacked and the Palestinians held there seized by Israeli military forces on March 14, 2006. The political imprisonment of Ahmad Sa’adat is perhaps the highest-profile case of what security coordination between Israel and the Palestinian Authority means for Palestinians. Palestinian political activists are detained, questioned and imprisoned by the hundreds by PA security services – based on complaints from Israeli occupation forces – or for “insulting” PA officials on facebook or other social media. In addition, the United States, Canada and the European Union have poured millions of dollars into funding this “security coordination” at the expense of the Palestinian people. For too many Palestinian political prisoners, Palestinian Authority detention and interrogation has become a “revolving door” with Israeli jails, political imprisonment, and administrative detention without charge or trial. Political prisoners are interrogated upon their release from Israeli jails by PA security forces, while Palestinian activists released from PA custody are frequently once again arrested by Israeli occupation military forces. The military assault and abduction of Sa’adat and his comrades from the PA prison in Jericho, where he was held under US and British guard, to an Israeli prison, is perhaps the most visible example – coming, as it did, after reports that incoming PA officials elected in 2006 might refuse to continue to illegally detain Sa’adat and his comrades. PA security coordination is part and parcel of the Oslo process, which has been disastrous for the Palestinian people. Rather than leading to any form of real rights, self-determination or independence, the Oslo process and repeated negotiations have created a Palestinian security service that works not to protect the Palestinian people from Israeli military attacks, colonial settler assaults and violence against land and people, but instead to protect the occupier from the legitimate resistance of a colonized people under occupation. Meanwhile, that occupation force has only escalated its mass imprisonment against the Palestinian people and their leaders. Ahmad Sa’adat has been denied family visits for the past three months – and prohibited from family visits for three months more to come. The denial of family visits is being used as a weapon against Palestinian political prisoners and as a method of collective punishment against Palestinian families; it is a new form of isolation being imposed upon Sa’adat and other Palestinian leaders in an attempt to break their will and the will of the Palestinian people. Over 1,000 Palestinians have been sent to administrative detention, imprisonment without charge or trial, in 2014, and there are over 6,500 Palestinian political prisoners held in Israeli occupation prisons. They call us thugs, because we want to change the world! When there are dead bodies here and there, there is nothing for thanksgiving… I can't breathe… This situation must be stopped… No one can stay on the sidelines... As the death of Michael Brown and Eric Garner, and also the exoneration of the criminal police outraged us, the news of your brave battle with the police in New York City, Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, Baltimore, Boston and other cities in the USA have enthused all the revolutionary people as well as us. Hope for change has been revived in the hearts of thousands of people. Your outrage for this manifest injustice and your fights against the brutality of the police force, the main arm of this suppressive system, has endangered imperialism's "safety" in the safe house of so-called "democracy". Your fights against the "exporters" of bourgeois democracy has clearly revealed the real face of this system to the extent that they cannot hide it from the victims of the capitalist system, the victims whose hearts were full of hatred of the new world order, but now those hearts are beating for all protesters throughout the streets of America. Accept our red greetings from Europe. We are a group of young people, standing up again after the reactionary regime repressed the Iranian revolutionary people. Under the suppressive system and massacres of one of the most reactionary regimes in Middle East, our slogan throughout all universities was: "No to reaction, no to imperialism". We aimed to prove nothing can stop us from dreaming of a better world. Suppression, murder, intimidation, assassination, disappointment, pessimistic voices saying change is impossible and preaching at us to slow down – all this never made us stop dreaming. History has always shown that protesters who dream and come up with their ideas, they do the right job, even if to realize their deepest ambitions, they sacrifice their lives. So again, accept our revolutionary heartfelt greetings and our ambitious wishes from Europe. On the 61st anniversary of Student Day in Iran (7 December), we graft our movement onto your protest. In 1953, after the success of an imperialist coup, U.S. vice president Richard Nixon visited the Shah of Iran in Tehran for another allegiance. During the student protest against this meeting and other colonial agreements, three students were killed by the police in the university. Since then, 7 December has been the symbol of the students movement against domestic tyranny and foreign intervention. This day as an historically important day of uprising in Iran, fortunately, is still a symbol of ongoing protest against the theocratic Islamic regime and imperialist military intervention led by the U.S.A. In our view, today, the fight of American protesters is part of evolving international fight by all oppressed people around the world, and we do believe that we are also part of this stream. Protests were firstly begun after the murder of Mike Brown. After the murder of Eric Garner, people were confronted with the corrupt judicial system in the United State of America. It revealed this reality that: No one can stay on the sidelines. Yes, Black people have arisen in the USA; a lot of other people have joined them and occupied streets. This is a significant uprising against historical injustice and oppression. Black oppression is one of the essential bases of white imperialist governments. The ridiculous and painful part of this tragedy is that to get away from the consequences of this historical oppression, apparently the system is under the control of a Black president. Obama, after being elected the president of America, tried to create a false hope in the hearts of the progressive people including the majority of Black people. Now, we find out that he is nothing but a Black driver for the white giant imperialist suppressive machine. He claims that his being the commander of this huge machine shows great racial progress while he calls all protesters plug-uglies. He thinks protesting against the judicial system in the USA is a kind of vandalism and illegal. In the same way, the Islamic Republic of Iran has called Iranian protesters "dust" and "brushwood". Although these kinds of reactionary powers might sound in conflict with imperialist interests, all of them use the same methods against their protesters. That’s why your rebellion and ours are absolutely right and must go on to the end. According to the revolutionary comrade Carl Dix: This situation needs to be stopped. It is necessary to stay in streets, scream and fight to stop police violence and murders. They fire tear gas, fake and real bullets, but you continue to protest. You block the streets with your bodies lying down there. You organize progressive actions in your workplaces. You turn universities and schools into bastions of your struggle, and you roar the revolution. Yes! Some of you properly emphasize that "Revolution is not an instantaneous event"! Revolution is a gradual process in which oppressed and outraged people are being informed to take control of the authority, and to change the social relationships through conscious leadership. People on the sidelines will occupy mainlines and will graft their emancipation to the emancipation of all human beings. They will graft it to Mexican protesters who revolted against the government that kidnapped students, Palestine and Kurdistan, Iran and India, North Africa, and at the end, they will shout the emancipation of all human beings. Such a revolution should be led, otherwise it may be defeated and turned back by other forces. Our revolutionary comrades! Protesters! Democratic and republican parties and all colourful forces are trying to push you back into your homes by threatening, massacring, deceiving, making shallow promises, or negotiating with compromisers who call themselves your representatives. Reactionary priests keep on peaching and calling you "thugs and plug-uglies" in the holy days of Christmas and New Year. Some of the officials are talking about the communist intervention. The media describes you as plug-uglies. Police forces in European countries are on high alert because they smell danger. When the lord's house is on fire, all partners and flunkies start extinguishing it by any means. While it is indeed in danger, the world is starved for a new voice, a new approach to revive a new struggle; a campaign aimed to make a new free world, without any collusion with corrupted powers. Oppressed people must increase their courage more than at any other time to understand all these scientific facts in a scientific way. They need to deal with its complications, and resist to realize and create such a free world. The people need to have revolutionary leaders to do so. Suppressed people, especially the youth, must dare more than others. They must study, draw an intellectual horizon, and dream to crush this depraved system. Undoubtedly, you and we must develop revolutionary movements that aim for making a world without any oppression, without catastrophic devastating wars of the imperialists, without religious subjugation; a world without massive distortion by the enormous wealth accumulated in a few imperialist countries while on the other side, there are exploited masses increasing day by day; a world without patriarchy, segregation, homosexuals inequity, and religious discrimination; a world without false concepts such as unchangeable human nature. It is certainly possible to make such a world. We are with you. We are your allies. They call us thugs, because we want to change the world. We are communist revolutionaries since we want REVOLUTION, nothing less! We go outside in the streets, together all in groups! We go to shout that capitalism is bankrupt!We go to show our will to fight to the end! We go but we won’t tie our fate to the will of reactionary leaders! We go to take our fate in our hands. To stay determined in our way to the end, we must be awake and aware! We need conscious leaders! The choice is ours; others made their own! Our choice is revolution!

Afghanistan: 13 years of occupation and no end in sight

15 December 2014. A World to Win News Service. U.S. President Barack Obama once promised that he would end his country's combat role in Afghanistan at the end of December. Then he took it back. Speaking at the White House last May, he said that while he would keep about 10,000 troops in Afghanistan through 2015, they would just be "advisers” and "will no longer patrol Afghan cities or towns, mountains or valleys. That is a task for the Afghan people." But in November, he signed an authorisation for American troops to continue combat missions – now to once again include night raids, a form of terrorism against the civilian population that the U.S. had been forced to suspend – and also for U.S. jets, bombers and drones to continue killing Afghans, again a form of military aggression that has repeatedly meant wiping out wedding parties and other civilian gatherings. Several other Nato countries, including Turkey, have announced that they will actually send new troops to Afghanistan. After thirteen years of U.S. and Nato occupation, there is no end in sight. This is taking place in a context in which the U.S. and UK are also sending fresh troops to another country whose occupation they had supposedly abandoned, Iraq. The way Obama changed the role of his troops in Afghanistan from "advisers" to combat troops at the mere wave of a presidential piece of paper should not only help unmask this phony distinction but also help clarify Obama's intentions, which are to pursue the interests of empire by whatever means necessary. If the U.S. can't get local reactionary armies to serve its interests, American troops have to be sent. Many people fooled themselves into thinking that Obama intended to end the U.S. war in Afghanistan, and were surprised by this apparent turnaround. But the change was not one of principle, only of assessment: until recently the "residual" American forces he had always said he would leave there were expected to be able to keep the Taliban from winning outright victory and perhaps force them to accept some sort of power-sharing arrangement that would also be acceptable to the U.S. While we don't know all the factors in the U.S.'s policy shift, it could be seen coming. On 6 December, during the U.S. Defence Secretary's trip to Afghanistan, it was revealed that a decision had been made to increase the number of American troops there in 2015 by a thousand more than previously planned, to a total of 10,800 troops. Nato countries announced that they would have 4,000 troops in Afghanistan in 2015, another thousand more than previously announced. Obviously the current promises that there will only be two more years of occupation (until 12 January 2017, a week before Obama is scheduled to leave office) have to be seen in light of his previous indications that he would end it now. Some commentators are attributing the shift to the new Afghan president Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai, who has called for "restarting a warm relations" with the U.S. and made a request for the continuation of U.S. and Nato combat missions in Afghanistan. After a contentious presidential election that finally was resolved by a compromise, Ghani signed a so-called "Long-term security agreement" with the U.S. and several of its allies, and this was ratified by the Afghan parliament. Although previous president Hamid Karzai – literally chosen and put in office by Nato as the Afghan face of the invasion – had refused to sign this agreement, not many people believed he was seriously resisting. Given that he was in the final months of his presidency, he was attempting to buy some popularity and legitimatise the office of the presidency. But he – and the U.S. – knew the agreement would finally be signed by his successor. Some people have been trying to attribute the Obama administration's shift to pressure by military officials against the White House. According to The New York Times (21 November), the armed forces won the argument, and, officials put it, "The military pretty much got what it wanted." But there has been no public opposition to the decision from either the Democratic or Republican party. The U.S. Senate has just approved funding for the continued occupation with no dissent. It is one of the issues on which the U.S. ruling class seems to have reached a consensus, at least for now. In fact, the U.S. ruling class is grappling with contradictory factors. There are real limits to the resources that can be assigned to their occupation in Afghanistan. It has gone very badly for them both when Obama "surged" the number of troops and now that their number has decreased. At the same time, the U.S. is still far from achieving even its modified objectives of keeping some sort of control over the country. In some respects, the "surge" made their situation worse, "a total failure" as some of their ex-generals put it. One of the same factors that limits their ability to maintain "surge"-level forces in Afghanistan – their recognition of the need to send more troops to Iraq in the wake of the collapse of the Iraqi army in the face of the Daesh offensive last June – also bodes ill for U.S. imperialist prospects in Afghanistan. In both countries the army that the U.S. trained to serve its interests and the religiously-based, U.S.-dependent (and consequently hated and corrupt) political system it installed are tottering. No amount of further "training" by U.S. "advisers" can solve this problem, and shifting occupation forces from one theatre of war to the other has not solved it either. This dilemma has found expression in the contention within the U.S. ruling class, and because the problem has not been resolved, there may be more contention at the top in the U.S. about how to pursue its interests in this situation. The U.S.-led occupation of Afghanistan and Iraq, and the U.S.-led war whose centre has shifted from Afghanistan to Iraq, then back to Afghanistan, then to Libya and then Syria, and now again in Iraq and continuing in Afghanistan, has been the most important factor in fuelling the rise of the reactionary Islamic fundamentalist challenge to what Obama's predecessor's advisers called "a new world order". It has been mainly the U.S. and its "war on terrorism" that has strengthened the Islamist forces and is bringing them more together. The U.S. and its allies are trying to pretend that they are de-escalating the war in Afghanistan because they are winning there. This is far from the truth, either in Afghanistan or throughout the region. What they want is the ability and flexibility to shift more easily from one war theatre to another and resolve the challenge by force of arms. When Obama said in his speech in May, that "Americans have learned that it's harder to end wars than it is to begin them", he was implicitly saying that neither he nor any other representative of the U.S. ruling class intends to end these wars unless and until they win something of what they want and need. This is not a choice but a necessity for the imperialists to ensure their global interests. Otherwise, why don't they just end their invasions and occupations? Lately they haven't even pretended to have that in mind. Instead, sometimes they seem to be preparing public opinion in the U.S. for what the previous U.S. administration called "endless war". What have the U.S. and its allies brought to the people of Afghanistan after 13 years of war? Nothing but brutal occupation with its night raids, street searches, bombardments and insults to national and personal dignity, poverty and a collapsed, drug-based economy, and the oppression of women that is actually a common point uniting the pro and anti-U.S. warlords. Nothing but a U.S.-compliant, religious fundamentalist and utterly corrupt regime in Kabul and the revival of the once somewhat discredited Taliban disputing the Kabul regime to impose their own reactionary rule. More occupation can only make things worse for the people, and that's why it should be opposed.

Tugce Albayrak – A heroic and inspirational act

15 December 2014. A World to Win News Service. In the bathroom at a McDonald's in Offenbach, Germany on the evening of 15 November, two teenage girls were screaming for help. A 22 year-old German-born student of Turkish origin, Tugce Albayrak, heard their cries and alone rushed to their aid. She found several men harassing the two young girls and stopped them. Later when Tugce left the McDonald's, one of the young men took revenge on her in the parking lot. He beat her over the head with a baseball bat or other very hard object. She fell unconscious to the ground. A young man taken into custody initially admitted striking her on the head now refuses to say more. The story of Tugce's heroic act, covered by international media and many blogs, touched the hearts of hundreds of thousands of people throughout the world. With tears and anger, people of all backgrounds and ages from cities across Germany poured into the streets in demonstrations of tribute to her. Candlelight vigils were held at the hospital where she lay in a coma for two weeks before doctors pronounced her brain dead. Her parents decided to remove her from life support on 28 November, her 23rd birthday. In an effort to burnish its image, McDonald's took out a full page ad in Bild, one of Germany's largest selling newspapers, in Turkish and German: "We mourn the loss of an extraordinary woman who showed courage and lost her life... In this moment, our thoughts are with the family of Tugce Albayrak, we wish them strength in this difficult time." Cynically, McDonald's added it condemns any kind of violence, "especially in and around our restaurants". In the face of this outpouring from people across the country, the German president was obliged to make a public statement to her family. "Our entire country mourns with you. Where other people looked away, Tugce showed exemplary courage." The hypocrisy of this statement is stunning. The oppression of people from non-German backgrounds living in Germany has a long history rooted in German imperialism and the structural relations embedded within. "Guest workers" from Turkey who played a huge role in German prosperity after WWII have never been welcomed in the closed society that Germany is. The structure of oppressive social relations in German society is not only anti-immigrant but also anti-woman. Traditional public opinion scorns a working mother as a Rabenmutter, a heartless "raven mother" who should be at home caring for children rather than pushing them out of their nest. Early child care and schools are often organised so that the hours are inflexible, making it difficult for women to work at more than part-time jobs. Alongside this aspect of patriarchal relations, Germany is home to the biggest brothels in Europe. In fact, the county has been called one giant brothel where more than one million men pay for sex every day. So women out in the evening unaccompanied by men are considered fair game for other men to prey on them. The young man who killed Tugce to defend male "right" may not have been born in Germany, but he learned society's lessons very well. Tugce Albayrak broke through some of these social constraints in many ways. Aspiring to teach high school youth, she was an excellent student with a full life before her. When she rescued the two teenage girls, all that was snuffed out because she refused to look the other way. Now almost 200,000 people have signed an online petition to get the German government to honour her bravery by awarding her the National Order of Merit. What is it in this situation that has touched people so deeply? By many "good German" standards Tugce was not one of them, yet she defended one of "theirs". She broke out of the stultifying societal confines of how people are supposed to think and act: "mind your own business", "keep your head down" and "look out for number one." She dared to stand up to the male privilege that society tells men is their birthright. That so many people have been moved by Tugce shows that the oppressive, narrow-minded and suffocating culture that characterizes not just German society but Western countries in general is not inherent in human nature. It arises from and helps perpetuate a system that people are forced to live under. That so many people were inspired by an act that provided a glimpse of a different way of thinking and being shows what could be unleashed if people saw the real possibility of stepping out of the confines of the old ways to help bring into being a world of mutual respect free of all relations of domination and exploitation. Tugce's heroic act was inspiring and forward-looking, a manifesto of non-accommodation to the world as it presently is.

Israel, the U.S. and Islamic fundamentalism

19 January 2015. A World to Win News Service. In the wake of the Charlie Hebdo killings in France, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a warning against "a wave of Islamization" sweeping Europe. But an Israeli air strike in Syria only a few days later provided a new and even more dangerous example of how Israel, far from a secular state itself, has deliberately aided Islamic fundamentalists for its own cynical and criminal ends. On 18 January Israeli guided missiles targeted two vehicles travelling on the Syrian side of the Golan Heights. Among the half dozen or more people killed in this assassination, according to early reports, were the head of the Syrian operations of the Lebanese Shia organization Hezbollah and the top Iranian Revolutionary Guards commander in Syria. The Israeli airstrike seems to have been meant to strike a hard blow at the Lebanese and Iranian forces playing a key role in the Syrian regime's battle against the Islamist fundamentalist Jabhat al-Nusra that has been advancing in south-west Syria. The Golan Heights overlook Syria's capital, Damascus, and al-Nusra's campaign to seize control there could be a factor in tipping the scales in the currently stalemated Syrian civil war. It would be hard to argue that the Israeli attack had any foreseeable result and therefore aim other than supporting one reactionary side in that civil war, Sunni Islamists, against the reactionary Bashar al-Assad regime. This is at least the fifth time Israel has launched strikes against the Syrian government since 2013 (Washington Post, 18 January), effectively helping the Islamists who long ago gobbled up almost all other opposition to Assad. In one of these incidents, Israel shot down a Syrian MiG that had been been supporting government forces on the battlefield. U.S. assent for these offensive actions became obvious when the Obama government decided to ignore a well-documented 7 December Israeli air attack on a Damascus international airport facility, allegedly a military warehouse, which certainly would have been denounced as terrorism and an act of war if anyone had similarly attacked Israel's Ben Gurion airport. Israel has provided direct support for al-Nusra on the ground. A June 2014 UN report drawn up by UN observers assigned to the Golan Heights describes, among other incidents, numerous Israeli attacks on Syrian government forces during periods of intense fighting between the Syrian army and "armed opposition forces" (in an area where al-Nusra has absorbed the other opposition groups and where the black Islamist flag flies over captured outposts from the Syrian army). UN observers reported seeing Israeli soldiers handing unidentified boxes to fighters on two occasions. On 59 occasions, they saw Israeli soldiers take a total of 89 wounded for medical treatment and then later return most of them to the front lines. (www.un.org.en/ge/search/view_doc.asp?symbol=S/2014/401) This Israeli policy was reported in The New York Times (19 January), which said, "Israel has mostly turned a blind eye toward the Qaeda-affiliated insurgents battling the Syrian government near the border... Israeli hospitals have even treated United States-backed Syrian insurgents who have been allowed to cross the border, including from groups that have sometimes cooperated on the battlefield with those Qaeda-affiliated fighters." Only three days before the Israeli airstrike, Hassan Nasrallah, the head of the Shia Islamist Hezbollah, made two points in a television interview. One was a warning to Israel not to break the de facto cease-fire on the Lebanese and Syrian borders. Although Hezbollah has claimed legitimacy from Lebanese Shias and others as a representative of resistance to repeated Israeli aggression, including the 2006 Israeli invasion that killed more than a thousand Lebanese, mainly civilians, its main objective is its own religious rule and not freeing Palestine. Nasrallah's other point was to repeat earlier offers of a "political solution" to Syria's civil war in which Assad would agree to step down. Israel's political goal in supporting Islamists forces in Syria has been meant to prevent or delay an end to that civil war. While Israel has its own interests, this aim is consistent with U.S. goals and actions in Syria until now. Although the U.S. may have had illusions about bringing a compliant regime to power a few years ago, it seems to have considered Syria's destruction as the next best thing. Even the idea of an eventual "political settlement" being floated around now has been contingent on first weakening Assad, making sure that enough damage is done so that the U.S. can more fully dominate whatever future regime may emerge. The U.S. and Israel have actively worked to fuel the horrendous civil war with no regard for the hundreds of thousands of dead and the millions of refugees. It is not true, as many people believe, that the rise of Islamic fundamentalism can be attributed chiefly to the conscious efforts and policies of the U.S. and Israel, its reliable Middle Eastern outpost. Although such a simplification has appeal for many Middle Eastern people and others cruelly confronted with both U.S. domination and Islamic fundamentalism, a little hard thinking makes it clear that the social and ideological factors driving the clash between Western (and chiefly U.S.) imperialism and Islamist reactionaries are beyond anyone's control. But the U.S., acting on its own and often through the Israeli secret services, did a great deal to encourage the rise of Islamism when they thought it was in their interests, and they do not hesitate to do so now for the same reasons. In fact, the main way the U.S. aids Islamism is by its brutal attempts to control the Middle East, including American backing for Zionist rule over Palestine, and presenting that as the only alternative to Islamic fundamentalism, thus echoing and giving aid and comfort to Islamism's claims that it is the only alternative to Western and Zionist domination. This latest Israeli attack illustrates what we all need to know: that any strengthening of either of these inhuman monsters, the Islamic fundamentalist forces or the U.S.-led forces, reinforces both sides in a dynamic that is extremely harmful for the people of the region (above all) and the world. That is what Israel is doing, with U.S. backing, and that is what it should be condemned for.
