Will Reese (Bobby Hill) died at the end of February in NYC after a four-year battle with cancer. Our hearts ache at this loss. On May 14th you are invited to celebrate a remarkable person and truly meaningful life.
Will came up in rural southwest Virginia under the suffocating reign of open white supremacy, where the rules for Black people were written in Jim Crow laws, in reactionary customs... and in blood. As a young man, Will responded with defiance and refusal to go along with the way things were. He adopted the Black Panther attire, and attempted to integrate barber shops and skating rinks.
Will Reese saw the need to radically change things, and that set the terms for his whole life. In the mid-1970s, he encountered the Revolutionary Communist Party (RCP) and recognized that this Party and this leadership was what he had been looking for. He became a member of the RCP and a follower of BA, the Chairman of the Party. Will spent the rest of his life devoted to spreading this revolution.
We look forward to remembering and celebrating Will’s life with you.
